Politicians Hailed for Defending Life and Marriage

VATICAN CITY, DEC. 15, 2004 (Zenit.org).- The defense of life and of the family founded on marriage has become one of John Paul II’s constant concerns, which he makes public in every situation he considers appropriate.

Such an opportunity presented itself today on at the end of the general audience, when the Pope greeted a delegation of the Regional Council of Apulia, of southern Italy.

In his brief greeting, the Holy Father expressed in the presence of 9,000 pilgrims «his pleasure because of the commitment demonstrated [by those politicians] in defense of human life and support of the family, founded on marriage.»
