The Pope made his in French today before he led the recitation of the Angelus with the crowds gathered in St. Peter’s Square. His appeal came on the day dedicated in France to victims of the highway.

The Holy Father entrusted «to the Lord’s love all the people who died in highway accidents, as well as the numerous injured and their families.»

At the same time, he invited «all automobile drivers to drive with prudence and responsibility to fight effectively with the authorities against this social evil, and reduce the number of victims.»
