New Archbishop for Gatineau, Quebec

GATINEAU, Quebec, OCT. 12, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI has named the bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall, Canada, as metropolitan archbishop of Gatineau.

Archbishop Paul-André Durocher, 57, succeeds Archbishop Roger Ébacher, who retired for reasons of age.

The Archdiocese of Gatineau has some 250,000 Catholics served by around 70 priests and 200 religious.
