Benedict XVI is dedicating the month of January to pray for all Christians to deepen their faith in Christ.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for this month. His general intention is: “That in this Year of Faith Christians may deepen their knowledge of the mystery of Christ and witness joyfully to the gift of faith in him.”

The Pontiff’s apostolic intention for January is: “That the Christian communities of the Middle East, often discriminated against, may receive from the Holy Spirit the strength of fidelity and perseverance.”
