A German financial services company has named the director of the Vatican press office as «communicator of the year.»Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi was given the honor Thursday at the Vatican by the Allianz Group.
The company is present in more than 70 countries and has more than 78 million clients worldwide.
Among the reasons for this year’s award, Allianz noted that Fr. Lombardi “represents the key to understanding and interpreting the Holy See with great refinement and experience, without seeking to make himself the protagonist.”
The text of the award adds that the priest has always been “at the service of information, from both the side of the one who has it as well as that of the one who seeks it.”
