Pope's Address to Vietnamese Delegation of Beatification Cause of Cardinal Van Thuan

Here is the translation of Pope Francis’ address to a delegation of officials, family and friends of the Servant of God, Francis Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan, a Vietnamese cardinal who spent thirteen years in prison in his native land before coming to Rome to head the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. The delegation is visiting Rome in the context of the official closure of the diocesan phase of Cardinal Nguyen Van Thuan’s cause for beatification. The Holy Father remembered the Cardinal as a witness to hope whose humility and priestly spirit touched countless lives.
