“To persevere, despite the adversities and persecutions, was the Pope’s encouragement to young people, the elderly, the sick and newlyweds, during the General Audience on October 17, 2018.
As he does every Wednesday, the Holy Father ended the meeting in St. Peter’s Square, by addressing them under the sign of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and martyr at Rome (1st century), whose feast is observed today.
“Let us learn from the holy Bishop of ancient Syria to witness our faith courageously,” invited the Pontiff. “Through his intercession, may the Lord give each one of us the strength to persevere , despite the adversities and persecutions.”
