A new case of COVID 19 has been confirmed among Vatican employees, bringing the total number of cases to twelve.

This was confirmed in a declaration of the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, May 6, 2020.

«A new case of Covid-19 has recently been confirmed, the twelfth in Vatican City State and among the employees of the Holy See,» it began.

«The person,» the statement explained, «has been working remotely since early March and upon the emergence of symptoms, remained in self-isolation at home.»

«Before returning to the workplace the employee underwent a test for Covid-19 at the Vatican Directorate for Health and Hygiene which resulted positive, and is now under observation at home,» the statement concluded.
