This was announced in an Aug. 17 statement of the Apostolic Almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, who thanked the Hope Onlus Association for this generous commitment.
Hope is an Italian independent, non-profit organization that helps children and communities in need in Italy and the Middle East by carrying out humanitarian and sustainable development projects to safeguard health and education.
It specializes in humanitarian projects related to health and education, and has worked to find the high-tech life-saving medical equipment through several donors, and is also following the transportation and installation of the medical equipment in individual hospitals.
«Once in Brazil, the statement explained, «these devices will be delivered and donated to those hospitals the Apostolic Nunciature has indicated on the national territory in order that this gesture of solidarity and charity Christian can really help the poorest and most needy people.»
Cardinal Krajewski recalled that Pope Francis’ incessantly addresses a heartfelt appeal for generosity and solidarity with those populations and those countries that suffer most from the COVID 19 epidemiological emergency.
The Almoner recognized that in this moment of trial, closeness and concrete gestures to help have materialized, including those seeking medical material and electromedical equipment «to donate to many structures health workers who find themselves in situations of emergency and poverty to find the means necessary to save and cure many human lives.»
