(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 11.03.2023).- In a statement issued on Friday, November 3, by the Holy See Press Office, it is confirmed that Pope Francis will undertake a new trip:

“Accepting the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, His Holiness Pope Francis will make the previously announced trip to Dubai from 1 to 3 December 2023, on the occasion of the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).”

While it had been a rumor since his audience with a Muslim leader on October 18, the confirmation comes two days after the Pope announced it in an interview with the Italian Radio Television on November 1, 2023. As the statement from the Holy See Press Office indicates, the purpose of the Pope’s trip is the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
