(ZENIT News / Jerusalem, 10.11.2023).- As a result of a video that became viral on the social networks, and in which allegedly blood and oil is seen to exude in the Holy Sepulcher stone, the Catholic Custody of the Holy Land issued a press release in which it states that “it has nothing to do with the video that appeared on the network, in which it is affirmed that the stone of unction of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher has started to exude oil and blood.”

Yes it affirms that “The stone is anointed  daily with fragrant myrrh, and the piety of the faithful collects this oil with handkerchiefs or garments, which they keep for personal devotion, in memory of the Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Finally, they specify that “There is no supernatural phenomenon that can attest to what is affirmed in the text attached to the video, and no Franciscan of the Custody of the Holy Land  is implicated in this revelation.”
