(ZENIT News / Buenos Aires, 11.23.2023).- It will be in the last week of November 2023 when the outgoing President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, will be received in a protocol audience by Pope Francis in the Vatican City. The reason for the audience is the conclusion of Mr. Fernández’s term. This was announced by the spokesperson for the current Argentine government, Gabriela Cerruti, on Thursday, November 23.

As reported in Buenos Aires, the audience was requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs two weeks before the elections. During Fernández’s 4-year term, during which the approval of the abortion of babies in their mothers’ wombs took place, the Pope has had two private audiences with him: one in 2020 and another in 2021. The one at the end of November 2023 will be the third.
