(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 01.10.2024).- On Wednesday, January 10th, Pope Francis appointed new consultants for the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops and also new members of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, namely:
Consultants for the General Secretariat of the Synod:
– Archbishop Timothy John Costelloe, S.D.B., Metropolitan Archbishop of Perth;
– Archbishop Piero Coda, Secretary General of the International Theological Commission;
– Gaby Alfred Hachem, Professor of Theology at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik;
– Giuseppe Bonfrate, Ordinary Professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University;
– Father Paul Béré, S.I., Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute.
New members of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences:
Professors:
– Gianni La Bella, Professor of Contemporary History in the Department of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy);
– Henrique José Sampaio Soares de Sousa Leitão, Pro-Rector of the University of Lisbon (Portugal);
– Andreas Sohn, Professor of Medieval History in the Pléiade Research Unit at the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (France).
