The 34th meeting of the Council of Cardinals (C6), the structure created in 2013 to assist the Pope in the reform of the Roman Curia, will take place virtually today, October 13, 2020.

The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, expressed this yesterday, October 12, stating they will also discuss how to continue the meetings with the ongoing health crisis.

The 33rd meeting was held from Feb. 17-19 of this year, a month before the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown in the country. Afterward, all their subsequent meetings were interrupted by the emergency caused by the pandemic.

During the February session, Cardinals Pietro Parolin, Óscar A. Rodríguez Maradiaga, Reinhard Marx, Seán Patrick O’Malley, Giuseppe Bertello and Oswald Gracias continued with the in-depth reading and revision of the draft of the new Apostolic Constitution of the Roman Curia which, once approved, will replace Pastor Bonus promulgated by John Paul II.
