One of Us, Einer von uns, L’Un des Nous, Een van ons, Uno de Nosotros, Jeden Z Nas, Egy Kozulunk, Uno di Noi … -www.oneofus.eu – is grateful because the challenge launched last week has been met!
Over the past week, 77,905 signatures were collected. Today, May 22, there are 439,919 signatures. In just one day some 7,000 signatures were gathered.
Among the other initiatives launched in the same period, not even Right 2 Water, an initiative that promotes the provision of water and sanitation, had a similar increase like ours. In one week, they collected about 33,000 signatures , half in comparison to the “One of Us” campaign.
The other initiatives that began in the same period as “One of Us” collected in all respectively, Stop Vivisection 255,181 signatures, Fraternite2020, 63,095 signatures, Pluralismo dei media 9,140 signatures.
The political movement, Fratelli d’Italia, which in the total classifications, Italy is always ahead with 116,556 signatures. According to Michele Trotta, the Italian coordinator, the city that collected the most signatures was Brescia, appropriately known as the Lioness of Italy.
In the European classification, Poland remains first for online signatures. Italy keeps its second place and Hungary passes to third place, surpassing Spain that is in fourth place. Austria dropped to fifth place after a magnificent turn out in the past weeks. France placed sixth, but has a notable daily increase.
They are followed respectively in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth place by Holland, Slovakia, Germany and Lithuania.
In this particular classification, percentages must be taken into account. In fact, countries of small or medium size, such as Lithuania, Holland , Slovenia and Estonia almost reached the minimum percentages necessary, surpassing countries like Germany which reached 23.90% of the minimum necessary.
Also in the least likely places of the classification, there were positive changes. We confirmed the constant growth of Ireland and Luxembourg; even Greece has begun to move.
Some in the Brussels office of coordination suggested that the motto of the Three Musketeers “All for One and One for All” should be used by the “One of Us” campaign.
Every new signatory could be D’Artagnan, namely, the fourth musketeer, added to Athos, Portos and Aramis.
Our ultimate goal is to reach one million signatures.
On June 15, the European coordinators of One of Us from 27 EU countries will meet in Rome for a General Assembly. The necessary final target, but it would be lovely to surpass it, is one million signatures by November 1, 2013.
