The Pope will make an Apostolic Trip to Bulgaria and Macedonia in 2019. The Director of the Vatican Press Office, Greg Burke, made the announcement of this upcoming trip to the European countries, today, Dec. 13, 2018.
«Accepting the invitation of the Republic’s highest authorities and the Church, His Holiness Pope Francis will make an Apostolic Trip to Bulgaria from May 5- 7, 2019, visiting the cities of Sophia and Rakovski, and to Macedonia on May 7, 2019, where he will visit the city of Skopje.»
«The program for the trip will be published in due time.»
The Pope has already various trips planned for 2019, including to the United Arab Emirates, Feb. 3-5, to Morocco, March 30-31, and now these republics. The Cardinal from Madagascar has told Zenit that the Pope will visit their country this year. The Pope has also said he wishes to visit Japan in 2019.
