Vatican to Release Official Medal for 7th Year of Pontificate of Pope Francis

The official medal of the 7th year of Pope Francis’ pontificate (2013-2020) will be released on August 12, 2019, the Vatican announced August 9.
It will be available in limited quantities – 30 gold, 2000 silver, 2500 bronze – from the Apostolic See’s Heritage Administration and from the Vatican Bookstore.
Bearing the coat of arms of the Argentine pope, the medal represents a dove and natives, on a river, vegetation and symbolism of the sacrament of baptism and the Eucharist: an Amazonian decor that recalls the theme of the next Synod of Bishops (October 2019).
Also appears the Latin inscription “And vidit Deus quod esset bonum (Gn 1)” – And God saw that it was good – which expresses “the amazement of God vis-a-vis his own creation, that we are called to welcome in his multiform originality “.
The medal is the work of Orietta Rossi and each copy is accompanied by a certificate of guarantee numbered with the dry seal of the Secretary of State and the Polygraphic Institute and the Mint of the Italian State.
