Pope Leo XIV

The Vatican’s “foreign minister” opens up to the press: China, Leo XIV, the Pope’s travels, and his relationship with the Curia

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, offered this assessment during a meeting with journalists in Rome on October 27. Leo, he said, had initially given the impression of a “Superman, a super-Pope” after his election in 2025, moving quickly into the responsibilities left by the prolonged illness and death of Francis

Pope Leo XIV will meet with survivors of abuse during his tour of Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay

According to the Holy See Press Office, the Pope wants not only to stand alongside survivors but also to help develop accessible paths toward healing and ensure that the Church becomes a safe and spiritually healthy environment in which the Gospel can be lived and proclaimed.
