Nicaraguan Government Freezes Jesuit-Run University’s Bank Accounts

The Central American University (UCA) has been watched by the Nicaraguan Government, since the social and political crisis of 2028, for being aligned with the Opposition. The Nicaraguan Authorities did not inform the University of an investigation of its accounting and of the origin of its funds. To this intervention against the UCA is added the detention in February, and accusation against, Jesuit Bishop Rolando Álvarez, who continues to be in the Government’s prison.
