Delegation Visited Vietnam to Resolve Differences

Monsignor Celestino Migliore, undersecretary for relations with states, and Monsignor Barnabas Nguyên Van Phuong, office director of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, met with Vietnamese bishops and government authorities, a statement by the Vatican Press Office said.

Discussions were also held on the appointment of possible bishops. Some appointments will be published in the near future, while others will have to await a response by the Vietnamese.

The delegation also visited the dioceses of Danang and Bui Chu.

"During the eucharistic concelebrations in the two episcopal sees, the numerous faithful present manifested their profound communion with the Pope," the Vatican note concluded.
