Mexican President Fox Planning to Visit Vatican

MEXICO CITY, JULY 6, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Mexican President Vicente Fox will visit the Holy See, but no date has been set.

On Wednesday, Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello, apostolic nuncio in Mexico, met privately with Fox to study issues regarding Mexican-Vatican relations, and to plan the agenda for the president´s trip to Rome.

Archbishop Bertello gave Fox an official invitation from the Vatican to meet with John Paul II.
