Colombian Priest´s Sister Forgives Suspected Killers

BOGOTA, Colombia, SEPT. 6, 2001 (Zenit.org).- The sister of a slain priest publicly forgave the six suspects charged with savagely killing her brother last Sunday.

«Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only moral authority who can judge the authors of such a crime,» said Noralba Vélez, sister of Father Héctor Fabio Vélez Jaramillo.

Police sources in the jurisdiction of Roldanillo, where Father Vélez lived, said the killers robbed his residence after torturing him and stabbing him to death.
