“The recognition of the primacy of God in our life, the value of prayer and contemplation, and intense adherence to the Gospel, ‘without gloss’ or compromises are some of the indispensable conditions to be a credible witness to Jesus,” the Holy Father said in a letter published today.

The letter is addressed to Father Joachim Giermek, minister general of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Conventual, on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the birth of St. Joseph Cupertino.

St. Joseph Cupertino (1603-1663), patron of students and pilots, “encourages the world of culture, especially the school, to base human learning on the wisdom of God,” the Pope stressed in his message.
