For 40 years, Archbishop Stanislaw Dziwisz, 64, assistant prefect of the Papal Household, has been the closest collaborator of the Pope.

The other two new archbishops are Piero Marini, master of papal liturgical celebrations, and James Michael Harvey, prefect of the Papal Household, responsible for organizing papal audiences.

The note of the Holy See, released today, says that the three new archbishops retain both their titular episcopal sees as well as their posts. The appointments by the Pope are in recognition of their work.
