The year, called for by John Paul II, begins with an International Eucharistic Congress, in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Oct. 10-17.

Resources to assist the Church in England and Wales are to be published by the bishops’ conference and its Liturgy Office.

To assist parishes with their understanding and celebration of the Mass the bishops’ conference will publish early in 2005 the English translation of the General Instruction to the Roman Missal, together with complementary resources.

The first materials to be published will be a series of resources to promote times of liturgical prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament. They will be accompanied by simple guidance notes for the celebration of the Rite of Exposition, and the Rite of Exposition and Benediction.

These first resources are available to be downloaded from the Liturgy Office Web site www.liturgyoffice.org.uk/Resources. They may be freely reproduced, so long as they are not made available for sale and the copyright details are not altered.
