The 180-page publication of the Pontifical Council for the Laity includes color pictures and testimonies from the event in Germany.

«Each WYD is a special gift for the whole Church: a Church that needs to discover and constantly rediscover its youthful face; a Church that needs to be nourished by the vibrant breath of a faith that is filled with enthusiasm and energy,» says the council’s president, Archbishop Stanislaw Rylko, in the introduction.

«WYD in Cologne, from that perspective, was an outstanding ecclesial event in which you, young Christians, were the main players and in which you continue to surprise us!» he adds.

The texts and photographs recount the arrival of the youth to Germany, the opening Mass, the catecheses, the youth festival, the Pope’s arrival, his ecumenical meetings, the vigil and the closing Mass.

An appendix includes the event’s three key verbs: «search, meet, worship» and presents the themes for the World Youth Days of 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The magazine costs €5 and is available in Italian, French, English and Spanish. For more information, contact: pcpl@laity.va.
