India, the mosaic of a variety of religions, languages and cultures has lived in peace and harmony for thousands of years. India’s Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, has taught the world how and why nonviolence and truth are the most powerful weapons to fight even a mighty empire.
Most Indians are not only tolerant, but also peace-loving, open and welcoming. It’s only a small and extreme group that takes to violence against other religions and cultures. The government of India needs to wake up to this. Dialogue, in this context, is the best option.
