Faith-focused Films Out on DVD

‘October Baby,’ ‘For Greater Glory’ Were Both Hits on Big Screen

NEW YORK, SEPT. 12, 2012 (Zenit.org).- Two successful faith-focused films from this season are now available on DVD.

The first, «October Baby,» is essentially a movie about forgiveness. It also shines a light on the little-known reality of survivors of failed abortions.

The DVD went on sale at Walmart on Tuesday.

«October Baby» the book was also released this month. 

Co-authors Eric Wilson and Theresa Preston take readers even deeper into the story of the movie protagonist, Hannah, whose increasing anxiety and sudden collapse point to the surprising circumstances of her birth. Hannah learns from her parents that she is adopted and the survivor of a failed abortion attempt.

ZENIT spoke with the co-producer of the film before it was released in March.

True story

Also now available on DVD is «For Greater Glory.» This film follows the true story of the 1920s Cristero War — the people’s revolt in Mexico in demand of religious freedom. Directed by Dean Wright and produced by Pablo Jose Barroso, «For Greater Glory» stars Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia, Golden Globe winner Eva Longoria and Oscar Lifetime Achievement winner Peter O’Toole.
