Pope's Program Released for August Visit to Korea

Today, the Holy See Press Office announced the Holy Father’s itinerary for the Aug. 13-18, 2014, visit, detailing his program in Korea. His schedule includes partaking in the 6th Asian Youth Day and the Mass of Beatification for Paul Jun Ji-Ching among others, as well as several Masses, visits to shrines, and meetings with youth, religious, lay, and officials.

16:00: Departure by plane from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Seoul


10:30: Arrival at Seoul Air Base

14:00: Holy Mass in Private in the apostolic nunciature

15:45: Welcome Ceremony in the garden of the “Blue House” in Seoul. Courtesy visit to the President of the Republic in the “Blue House” in Seoul

16:30: Meeting with the Chungmu authorities in the hall of the “Blue House” in Seoul. Address of the Holy Father

17:30: Meeting with the Bishops of Korea in the headquarters of the Korean Bishops’ Conference. Address of the Holy Father


08:45: Helicopter transfer in Daejeon

13:30: Lunch with Youth at the Major Seminary of Daejeon

16:30: Helicopter transfer to the Shrine of Solmoe
