The Five-Year Assembly of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, dedicated to supporting the Church in the Holy Land, will be held in Rome from November 13-16, 2018.
During a press conference presenting the Consultation of this pontifical institution today in Holy See Press Office, it was noted that all the international leaders of the Order as well as representatives of the State Secretariat and the Congregation for the Eastern Churches will participate in the assembly.

Cardinal Edwin O’Brien, Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem; Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches; Leonardo Visconti di Modrone, Governor General of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, gave interventions. Also, Agostino Borromeo, Lieutenant General of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, and Dr. Donata Maria Krethlow-Benziger, Lieutenant of the Order for Switzerland, were present.
The website of the Order indicates that this pontifical institution «works to help the Christian community of the Holy Land, today the territory of Jerusalem, Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Cyprus.» The motto of the Order is Deus lo vult ( God willing ).
The order currently has about 30,000 members present in more than thirty-five countries. «Its members take a double commitment: to support spiritually and materially (schools, clinics, orphanages, …) the Christians of the Holy Land and deepen their faith together. «
