Pope Francis on January 30, 2019, reminded those attending his Wednesday General Audience that tomorrow – January 31 – is the memorial of Saint John Bosco.
«Tomorrow we will celebrate the memorial of Saint John Bosco, father, and teacher of young people: this was a good priest! Don Bosco was able to make all young people he met feel God’s embrace, offering them hope, a house, and a future,» the Holy Father said. «May his witness help all of us to consider how important it is to educate the new generations in genuine human and spiritual values.»
The Saint founded the Salesians on three main rules: no action or talk that could offend a Christian; do one’s school duties; be joyful.
Don Bosco and his companions sought to live in joy, being committed to their duties of study and faith, delighting in joy in respect of God and of others.
