Pope Appeals for End to Violence in Chile & Calls for Solutions

During General Audience, Urges Dialogue & Facing Problems Which Led to Crisis

Pope Francis is praying for an end to the violence in Chile, and is appealing for solutions.

At the conclusion of his weekly General Audience this morning in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis made a heartfelt appeal for the South American nation, stating: “I follow with concern what is happening in Chile.”

“I hope that, by putting an end to the violent demonstrations through dialogue, efforts will be made to find solutions to the crisis and to face the difficulties that have generated it, for the good of the entire population.”
