Anchored in hoped and founded in faith, a healthier world will be possible…

Pope Francis stressed this during the General Audience on Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020, telling Arabic-speaking Christians of the Middle East to put “the peripheries at the center and the most vulnerable in the first place.»

After his catechesis on the preferential option for the poor, the Argentinian Pope encouraged: «We are called to act now, to heal the epidemics caused by small invisible viruses, and to heal those caused by large and visible social injustices.»

This can be done, he said, «starting from the love of God, placing the peripheries at the center and the last ones in the first place.»

«Starting from this love, anchored in hope and founded in faith, he underscored, «a healthier world will be possible.»

Pope Francis concluded, praying: “May the Lord bless you all and protect you always from all evil.”
