That the elderly, sustained by families and Christian communities, may apply their wisdom and experience to spreading the faith and forming the new generations.

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network has released the Holy Father’s prayer intention for December 2017, for the elderly, and an accompanying video. The network’s website offers various commentaries and ideas for joining in the Pope’s prayers.

The video shows a young musician passing several elderly people on the street, then jazz music coming from a building.  When the young man enters, he finds those people he passed engaged in a serious jam session – which is he invited to join.
The Pope’s words on the video – subtitles in English – cite the importance of the elderly in sharing their wisdom and spreading the faith.
