Pope Francis on May 11, 2018, will visit the Vatican office Scholas Occurrentes and meet the new generation of young trainers, students who are participating in a project that the Foundation is responsible for implementing worldwide, Scholas announced May 9.
During this meeting, they will review recent work: the inauguration of the new headquarters of Scholas in Argentina (in October the Pope blessed the foundation stone of Villa 31 in Buenos Aires); the inauguration of Mozambique (announced along with the creation of the art school and surfing) and the opening of the new center in Colombia (presented by the Association Advisory Council joined the Colombian Ministry of Education). Beyond that, the revelation of two new products: one from Mexico and one from the United States.
The International Youth Meeting, organized by the Foundation Scholas Occurrentes was held in Rome from Monday, May 7 and will close Friday, May 11, 2018, in Scholas headquarters in the presence of the Pope. During these days have participated in the workshops 100 young people from ten different countries: Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Haiti, Mozambique, Spain, and Italy. The initiative is realized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).
Scholas is an international organization of pontifical right, chaired by Argentinean José María del Corral, born from the desire of the then Archbishop Bergoglio in the Buenos Aires suburbs with the goal of providing educational experiences based on participation and personal commitment, according to an educational model based on the meeting, dialogue and respect for diversity.
