Pope Francis today blessed hundreds of baby Jesus figurines, brought to St. Peter’s Square for the traditional “Bambinelli Sunday” blessing.
The Pope blesses the figurines for the nativity scenes set up in the homes of the faithful.
The Pope noted the enthusiasm of the children, giving his first greeting to them and saying that they “know how to make noise!” to which the children responded with cheers.
“Dear children, listen up,” Francis said with a wide smile, “when you pray before your Christmas cribs, also remember to pray for me, as I pray for you. Thank you and merry Christmas!”
