The Vatican has released the program of Pope Francis’ visit to the Italian region of Molise this Saturday.
The Pope, who will be visiting the Archdiocese of Campobasso-Bojano in southern Italy in the Italian region of Molise, will be celebrating a public Mass, as well as visiting the incarcerated, ill, poor and young people.
After an early morning flight, the Pope will first, at 9 a.m., visit the University of Molise in Campobasso, where he will meet with a group of representatives from the world of work and industry.
His next engagement is a Eucharistic celebration, to take place at 10:30 a.m. at the old Romagnoli Stadium. The Holy Father will preside over the Mass and, at its conclusion, will greet a group of sick people at the Cathedral of Campobasso.
The Pontiff’s lunch plans involve eating with the poor at the “House of Angels,” a canteen run by Caritas of Campobasso.
At 2.30 p.m., the Holy Father will transfer by helicopter to Castelpetroso, where he will encounter a group of young people from the diocese of Abruzzo and Molise in Piazza del Santuario di Castelpetroso.
At 4 p.m., after traveling by car to Isernia, the Pontiff will meet with detainees of its local prison. In addition, he will greet the sick in the cathedral of Isernia and, in the surrounding square, will meet with the town’s citizens and announce the Celestine Jubilee Year.
Finally, Pope Francis will depart for Rome from the heliport of the Isernia fire service and is scheduled to arrive in Vatican City around 8:15 p.m. (D.C.L.)
