Pope's English-Language Christmas Greeting Calls to True Happiness

VATICAN CITY, DEC. 25, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI today gave his traditional Christmas greetings in 65 languages.

He sent out his best wishes from the central balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, overlooking the Square packed with faithful, and addressing the millions more tuned in through radio and television.

In English, he said, «May the birth of the Prince of Peace remind the world where its true happiness lies; and may your hearts be filled with hope and joy, for the Saviour has been born for us.»
