The announcement was made in a statement by the ICPE Mission (Institute for World Evangelization) which launched the Europe-wide campaign some months ago, supported by numerous organizations of the so called “Old World.”

Signature collecting ends December 15, 2003.

«At ICPE we support this petition which arose among lay Christians as a vibrant sign of the living Church for these reasons : namely to combat a historical falsification and hence to render a service to the truth; secondly, to prevent the rise of an inverted tolerance that goes against the principles of tolerance so cherished by Europe; thirdly, to ensure that our common values and peace will be guaranteed not through minimalism but the inclusion of the truth; finally, because Christianity, through its belief in God, offers a mediation with other cultures,» the organizers state.
