Argentina to Mark Day of the Unborn Child

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, MARCH 21, 2011 (Zenit.org).- The bishops of Argentina are encouraging the faithful to observe the Day of the Unborn Child this Friday by participating in a Rosary for Life.

The rosary will take place March 25 at the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, led by Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, archbishop of Buenos Aires. A statement from the Episcopal Conference of Argentina said the event will be a moment to reflect on the “moral and juridical gravity” of abortion.

“We advance toward a common strategy to oppose abortion,” the statement added, “which for the Church is unacceptable.”

We should celebrate human freedom, always reminding others that this freedom is ours so we can freely choose the good – and that to enjoy this freedom, each of us must first of all be allowed to live.
