Father Ciro Benedettini, subdirector of the Vatican Press Office, told the Mexican press, «We have no information relating to a change in the Holy Father´s plans. We announced the trip to Mexico three weeks ago and, up until now, I have no news that refers to its eventual modification.»
Yet, the priest clarified that the Holy Father´s trip to Mexico will depend on his state of health. Last Saturday, John Paul II returned to his public engagements after being hampered by an arthritic knee.
