The theme Christian and Taoist Ethics in Dialogue will be studied in its various aspects by seventy scholars and practitioners of interreligious dialogue. The participants in the Colloquium come from the Christian and Taoist Traditions and the following countries: Singapore, China, France, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Switzerland, Vatican and Taiwan. H. E. Bishop Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, (Secretary) and Msgr. Indunil Janakaratne Kodithuwakku Kankanamalage (Undersecretary with responsibilities for Taoism), will represent the PCID. H. E. Archbishop Felix Machado and Rev. Dr Peniel Rajkumar will represent the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and the World Council of Churches respectively.
This Colloquium has two primary goals:
1. to provide opportunities for academics and practitioners of Christian-Taoist dialogue to share views and aspects related to the theme by means of the conference podium as well as informal discussions;
2. to urgently act together, with a shared sense of co-responsibility, to face the grave human, ethical and social degradation in the world on the basis of a patrimony of moral values common to all human beings.
