This morning Alessandro Gisotti, Director ad interim of the Holy See Press Office, greeted the journalists present. Here is a translation of his words.
* * *
I would like to thank colleagues for the many messages I received and that attest to the esteem in my relations with them and their understanding in a particular moment for the Holy See’s communication and for the Press Office.
As I already stated in assuming the office ad interim, I have done so with a spirit of service and responsibility, comforted by the Holy Father’s and the Prefect Paolo Ruffini’s trust, by my family’s support and by the great professionalism and dedication of my colleagues, to whom the Prefect also wished this morning to manifest personally his full support in this delicate situation, while work goes on for the new arrangement of the Press Office.
In this connection, therefore, I assure you of my absolute availability, asking at the same time for some patience for the errors and uncertainties that I might have in these my first steps.
I want to inform you also that Greg Burke and Paloma Garcia Ovejero have given all their willingness and collaboration to help me in this delicate passage.  Yesterday we spent the whole day together here in the Press Office.  It’s something that I appreciated very much and that I want to share with you.
