VATICAN CITY, OCTOBER 19, 2017 (Zenit.org).- On Wednesday, October 18, Pope Francis  appointed Monsignor James Patrick Green, Apostolic Nuncio in Norway; Monsignor Joseph Mark Siegel, Bishop of Evansville (USA); Monsignor Carlos Romulo Goncalves e Silva, Bishop of Montenegro and, this morning, the Holy Father appointed Monsignor Charles Jason Gordon, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago).
Appointment of the Archbishop of Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago)
This morning, October 19, 2017, the Holy Father accepted the resignation of Spiritan Monsignor Joseph Harris, 75, to the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), and he appointed  Monsignor Charles Jason Gordon, up to now Bishop of the diocese of Bridgetown, in Barbados, to the same See. Monsignor Gordon continues to be Apostolic Administrator “Sede vacante et ad nutum Santae Sedis” of the diocese of  Bridgetown.
Appointment of the Apostolic Nuncio in Norway
 The Pope appointed Monsignor James Patrick Green, Archbishop of Altino, Apostolic Nuncio in Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and Finland, Apostolic Nuncio in Norway.
Appointment of the Bishop of Evansville (USA)
 The Holy Father appointed Monsignor Joseph Mark Siegel Bishop of Evansville (USA). Up to now Monsignor Siege was Bishop of Pupiana and Auxiliary of the diocese of Joliet, Illinois.
Appointment of the Bishop of Montenegro (Brazil)
 The Holy Father accepted the resignation tendered by Monsignor Paulo Antonio De Conto to the pastoral government of the diocese of Montenegro (Brazil). He is succeeded by Monsignor Carlos Romulo Goncalves e Silva, up to now Coadjutor Bishop of the same diocese.
Monsignor Joseph Mark Siegel
 Monsignor Joseph Mark Siegel, one of a family of nine children, was born on July 18, 1963 in Joliet, Illinois, in the diocese of the same name. He attended Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary High School in Lockport (1977-1980), and Joliet Junior College. He completed his higher studies at Saint Meinard Seminary College in Saint Meinard, Indiana (1984) and then at the Pontifical Gregorian University (1987) and the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas of Rome. Subsequently, he obtained a Licentiate in Systematic Theology from Saint Mary’s University in Mundelein, Illinois (1990).
He was ordained priest of the diocese of Joliet, Illinois, on June 4, 1988.
After his Ordination, he held the following posts: Parish Vicar of Saint Isidore in Bloomingdale (1988-1994), of Saint Mary’s in Plainfield (1994-1998), of Saint Mary’s Nativity” in Joliet (1998-2000) and of Saint Raymond’s Cathedral in Joliet (2000-2004); parish priest of the Visitation in Elmhurst (2004-2010); President of the Presbyterial Council, Diocesan Consultor and General Chair of the Diocesan Year of the Eucharist.
Appointed Bishop of Pupiana and Auxiliary of Joliet, Illinois on October 28, 2009, he received episcopal consecration on October 19, 2010.
As Auxiliary Bishop he was Vicar General and Director of Permanent Formation of the Clergy, Diocesan Consultor and Diocesan Administrator of Joliet (2010-2011).  He is a member of the Divine Worship Committee of the Episcopal Conference.
In addition to English, he is knowledgeable in Italian and Spanish.
