Pope Francis on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, received UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and the organization representatives accompanying him. Rome is the setting for two major UEFA events on Wednesday and Thursday respectively – the latest UEFA Executive Committee meeting and the 43rd Ordinary UEFA Congress.
The committee will be briefed about UEFA’s strategy for the 2019-24 period, which aims to confidently take UEFA and European football forward into the future and reinforce UEFA’s role as the umbrella body of the European game. In addition, discussions will take place on the future strategy of women’s football, as UEFA increases funds and resources for this thriving sector of the sport.
