Pope Francis Tweets of Doing Good in Everyday Life

Do Not Look for “Reward”

Pope Francis recalls an important message of the Gospel in his tweet published on his account @Pontifex, today, August 1, 2017:  “We effectively do good when we do it without seeking reward and in the concrete situations of everyday life.”

“But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right had in doing, so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you,” says Matthew’s gospel.

Yesterday, July 31, the Pope had dedicated his tweet to the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
