Americans United for Life, a group dedicated to working through law to bring the end of abortion, has compiled a legal response to Planned Parenthood based on the series of videos released in recent weeks.

The response considers that the videos «raise probable cause that federal laws may have been violated in the practices and procedures of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates and outside contractors (“PPFA”) in procuring, selling and/or donating the human remains of aborted unborn infants.»

It goes on to look at possible violation of five federal laws:

1 Receiving valuable consideration for providing fetal tissue, 42 U.S.C. § 289g-2(a);

2 Altering abortion procedures to obtain fetal tissue, 42 U.S.C. § 289g-1;

3 Obtaining informed consent for fetal tissue donation, 42 U.S.C. § – 1 – 289g-1;

4 Performing partial-birth abortions, 18 U.S.C. § 1531;

5 Killing infants born alive after an attempted induced abortion, who are persons entitled to legal protection under 1 U.S.C. § 8.

The Americans United for Life Web site also considers the talking points distributed by Planned Parenthood’s public relations team.
