The Holy See Press Office has announced the dates of Pope Francis’ Apostolic Visit to South America.

In a statement released today, Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi confirmed that the Holy Father will head to three Latin American countries from July 6 – 12.

«Welcoming the invitation of the respective heads of state and bishops, His Holiness Pope Francis will make an Apostolic Visit in Ecuador July 6-8, 2015, in Bolivia, July 8-10, and Paraguay, July 10-12,» he stated.

Pope Francis confirmed his visit to Latin America during a press conference on his return flight from Manila in January. “The three Latin American countries that are foreseen for this year are: Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay,” the Pope said to journalists.

This is the Pope’s second visit to South America. He traveled to Brazil in 2013, several months after his election, for World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro.

Fr. Lombardi stated that the trip’s program will be published soon.
