The «maison-musée» is about 500 meters from the chalet where the Holy Father is staying these days.

The rooms of the museum, inaugurated in 1996, display a collection of John Paul II’s personal objects, as well as numerous photographs, picturing him in mountain boots or a mountaineer’s cap.

Before returning to his chalet on Sunday afternoon after the museum visit, Benedict XVI paused to pray in a nearby hermitage.
