ROME, MAY 18, 2009 (Zenit.org).- The author of Rome Notes, clearly infected by Dan Brownitus, made a glaring and sloppy mistake in her column this week. I erroneously attributed «Holy Blood Holy Grail,» one of Dan Brown’s sources for the «Da Vinci Code,» to Elaine Pagels. The authors were in fact Richard Leigh, Michael Baigent and Henry Lincoln. Elaine Pagels is the author of «The Gnostic Gospels,» another source of inspiration for Dan Brown’s work. I apologize for the error.
